My babies are home safe

What began as a joyful celebration quickly turned into a nightmare for many families attending Liverpool FC’s trophy parade.  Among them was the Isaac family, who are now sharing a deeply personal update that shows just how narrowly they escaped potential tragedy.

“I actually left town around 4pm,” Isaac’s mother shared in an emotional social media post. “Being heavily pregnant in the middle of those crowds just wasn’t for me.”

She had entrusted her children, Isaac and Florence, to the care of their father and other family members, confident they were enjoying the electric atmosphere in town as thousands gathered to cheer on their beloved team. What she didn’t expect was the chilling phone call that followed later that day.

“To then receive a phone call from their dad to tell me the news of what had happened… Wow. The blood drained from my body,” she recalled. “Today, my two babies were on that exact same street, at that exact time, making their way home. I can’t even bear to think what could have been.”

According to reports, a crash occurred near Water Street just as the parade was winding down — a street where, only moments earlier, Isaac and Florence had been walking. Fortunately, quick-thinking family members managed to pull them into nearby doorways and out of harm’s way. Still, the emotional toll was evident.

“They were both so frightened — hearing sirens, seeing emergency crews rushing by,” the mother wrote. “We are so lucky they’re safe. But it’s something I’ll never forget.”

Liverpool Football Club has confirmed it is in close communication with Merseyside Police as investigations continue. In a statement issued shortly after the incident, the club expressed deep concern for all those affected.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who has been impacted by this deeply upsetting incident,” a club spokesperson said. “We understand how devastating such moments can be for families, friends, and members of our local community. The safety and well-being of all who gather to celebrate with us are always our highest priorities.”
