Diogo Jota Dies in Car Accident : Liverpool Fan, Isaac Devastated

Isaac joined the rest of the world to pay him tribute, saying
You’ll Never Walk Alone!
Just as other Liverpool fans, the football world and entire world. Isaac, a devoted Liverpool fan known for his admiration of Diogo Jota, was heartbroken and devastated when he heard about the news. Jota, his favorite player and someone he often praised for his quiet brilliance and sharp instincts, has died in a tragic car accident in Spain.
He joined the rest of the world to pay him tribute, saying : You’ll Never Walk Alone.
According to Isaac’s family
“Isaacs was in school and didn’t know about the news early enough. He was devastated on getting back from school and hearing the news”
Later in the day, Isaac’s parents shared his reaction on hearing the news:
“Thank you for all your messages. Isaac knows about the tragic news and we’ve had a very emotional afternoon in our house. We’ve all cried together & Isaacs asked us to turn of the TV, which is exactly what we’ve done and had lots of cuddles”.
The accident happened at 12.30am local time (11.30pm BST) on the A-52 motorway in Cernadilla, Zamora. A tyre burst while overtaking, causing the car to leave the road and catch fire. Jota’s 26-year-old brother, Andre Silva—a professional footballer with Portuguese second division club Penafiel—was also killed.
Jota was just 28.
The Portuguese forward had recently married his long-term partner less than two weeks ago. He leaves behind three children.
Jota joined Liverpool in 2020 after a standout spell with Wolves, who he had first joined on loan in 2017 before signing permanently in 2018. Over four seasons at Anfield, he made more than 180 appearances and played a crucial role in the club’s most recent successes, including the Premier League title last season, and both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup in 2022.
Isaac had recently posted this tribute:
“Jota doesn’t always get the loudest praise, but if you really watch him, you know how good he is. He’s just different. Quietly confident. The kind of player who made me fall in love with the game again. Jota’s my guy. Always will be.”
Liverpool FC issued a brief statement:
“Liverpool Football Club are devastated by the tragic passing of Diogo Jota… We will continue to provide his family our full support.”
FC Porto, where both brothers once played, said:
“Porto is in mourning… May they rest in peace.”
Anfield will never feel the same.
