Mohamed Salah has once again etched his name into Premier League history, becoming the first player ever to win the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award three times. The Liverpool forward was honored in Manchester on Tuesday night following a sensational 2024-25 season that saw him fire the Reds to another Premier League title.

The Egyptian star’s numbers were staggering: 34 goals and 23 assists in 52 appearances, a campaign many are calling the best of his career. Already twice a winner of the PFA prize in 2017-18 and 2021-22, Salah’s third triumph underlines his consistency at the very top of English football.

On Making History

Reacting to his achievement, Salah could not hide his pride.

“It feels great, really great. It’s something that has never happened before in the Premier League, and I’ll never forget it. I’ll never take it for granted,” he said with a smile.

On His Best Season Yet

Looking back on last season, Salah admitted it may have been the finest spell of his career.

“I think we had a great season, and for me personally, maybe my best since joining Liverpool. To win the league again, I’m glad we achieved that, and hopefully we can carry that momentum into this year.”

On His Motivation

Salah explained that his relentless hunger is what continues to push him forward.

“Honestly, I always find a way to stay hungry. This year we had new players, and part of my role was to give them my experience, help them grow, and still deliver for the team. That hunger is what drives me to want more.”

On His Journey from Egypt to the Top

Reflecting on his roots, Salah admitted he never imagined reaching such heights when growing up in Egypt.

“No, I didn’t think about things like this back then. Of course, I wanted to be a footballer, to be famous, to support my family. But when you’re a kid in Egypt, you don’t picture winning things like this. It was only when I grew older, developed ambition, and saw the bigger picture that I began to dream of more.”

On His Bond with Liverpool and Promise to Arne Slot

Salah also spoke about why his connection with Liverpool has been so special, crediting new manager Arne Slot for trusting him to deliver once again.

“We’ve been very good to each other. I told the manager I’d bring him another Premier League title because I believe in what I can give this club. He said he’d put me in positions to provide numbers—and I think I did that pretty well.”

For Salah, this award is more than personal glory. It’s a reflection of his bond with Liverpool, his unrelenting desire for success, and his journey from the streets of Egypt to becoming one of the Premier League’s all-time greats.
