After a decade of dedication, Caoimhín Kelleher has officially moved on from Liverpool, completing a transfer to a fellow Premier League club and closing a significant chapter in his career.

The 26-year-old goalkeeper first arrived at Liverpool’s Academy in 2015, making the leap from Ringmahon Rangers in his hometown of Cork, Ireland. Over the years, he steadily rose through the ranks, eventually making 67 senior appearances for the Reds and collecting an impressive seven major trophies along the way.

During his time at Anfield, Kelleher lifted two Premier League titles, the UEFA Champions League, an FA Cup, two Carabao Cups, and a UEFA Super Cup. He also etched his name into the club’s history books by becoming Liverpool’s most successful goalkeeper in penalty shootouts, winning four—more than any other shot-stopper in the club’s history.

One of his most unforgettable moments came in the 2022 Carabao Cup final against Chelsea. After an outstanding display across 120 minutes, Kelleher stepped up and netted the winning penalty in a dramatic shootout at Wembley, sealing the trophy for Liverpool.

Initially brought in as a young prospect, Kelleher developed into a trusted backup for Alisson Becker. This past season (2024–25), he played a key role for new manager Arne Slot, appearing in 20 matches as Liverpool reclaimed the Premier League crown and reached another Carabao Cup final.

A standout period came in the autumn when Kelleher started 10 straight matches in the league and Champions League, beginning with a 2-1 win over Chelsea. During that stretch, Liverpool remained unbeaten—winning eight and drawing two—while Kelleher kept five clean sheets. He also achieved a rare feat: becoming the first Liverpool goalkeeper in over 100 years to save penalties in back-to-back matches, with decisive stops against Southampton and Real Madrid.

Liverpool Football Club has expressed its heartfelt gratitude to Caoimhín for his contributions and commitment over the years. As he embarks on a new chapter in his career, the club and its supporters send their best wishes for his continued success. Fans and lovers of Liverpool, including the biggest Liverpool fan has sent in their regards.
