For the kids at LFC Foundation’s summer football camp in Halewood, it was already a dream come true—days filled with football, laughter, and new friendships. But then came an even bigger surprise: Liverpool’s very own Cody Gakpo and Kostas Tsimikas walked in to join the fun.
The Foundation has been running these player development camps all summer long, giving boys and girls aged four to 14 a safe and exciting space to play the game they love. It’s not just about football—it’s about building confidence, learning teamwork, and staying active during the holidays, all while picking up skills the Liverpool way.
And on this particular day, the youngsters at Halewood Leisure Centre couldn’t believe their eyes when two first-team stars showed up. Gakpo and Tsimikas didn’t just wave from the sidelines—they pulled on their boots, joined drills, and passed on tips about technique, fitness, and teamwork.
Gakpo summed up the moment perfectly:
“I’m very proud to support the work of the LFC Foundation. It’s great to be here, to see the young people having fun and playing together at such a young age. To see the work that the foundation is doing is amazing—they’re so important in supporting our communities.”
The visit wasn’t just about football—it was about showing these youngsters that they belong, that their dreams matter, and that their heroes see them.
The LFC Foundation continues to use football as a force for good, focusing on education, opportunities, and tackling social inequalities in local communities. But on that day in Halewood, the only thing that mattered was the joy on the kids’ faces as they trained alongside their idols.
