Birthday of the man who inspired Isaac’s deep love for Liverpool

Its the birthday of Alan Kearney, the man who inspired Isaac’s deep love for Liverpool. August 17th is no ordinary day for the Kearney family. It’s the birthday of Alan Kearney not just a proud father, but the man who inspired his son Isaac’s deep and unshakable love for Liverpool Football Club.

Alan is a lifelong supporter of the Reds, and it didn’t take long for young Isaac to catch on. What started as a father’s passion for the club has now become the heartbeat of his son’s life. Today, as Alan celebrates another year of life, Isaac calls him not only his dad but also his mate, wishing him “all the good things life has to offer.”

Alan reflects with pride:

“He loves what I love. Liverpool is his life, and it brings him so much joy.”

Isaac’s journey, however, has not been without challenges. From the very beginning, life tested his strength in ways that many could not imagine. He spent his first ten nights in intensive care at Liverpool Women’s Hospital, battling seizures that left his parents fearing the worst. But against all odds and through faith and resilience  Isaac pulled through. Since then, he has never looked back.

Alan recalls those difficult days with gratitude:

“He hasn’t had seizures since then. He never complains about anything. He just gets on and continues with life.”

The challenges didn’t end there. On Isaac’s fourth birthday, instead of balloons and cake alone, the family faced another storm. Doctors discovered holes in his heart that required open-heart surgery at Alder Hey. The decision to operate was terrifying, but it proved to be life-saving. Miraculously, Isaac bounced back with remarkable strength, and he continues to attend regular checkups at Alder Hey.

Now, years later, Isaac has become more than just a Liverpool supporter. He is a symbol of hope and resilience — a young fan whose spirit has captured the hearts of the wider Liverpool family and football fans across the globe.

Alan beams with pride when speaking about his son:

“I’ve never felt more positive about things with him doing so well. We’re just so proud of him. He’s taken everything in his stride.”

And while the world sees Isaac as a special fan, Alan knows him first and foremost as his son — the boy who has overcome so much, and the boy who continues to light up his life.

So, today, as Alan celebrates his birthday, it’s more than just a day for cake and candles. It’s a celebration of life, of family, of resilience, and of the bond between a father and son — a bond made stronger through trials, faith, and, of course, Liverpool Football Club.

Happy Birthday, Alan. From Isaac and the entire Liverpool family, may this year bring you joy as big as Anfield on a matchday.
