Nunez sends four-word Liverpool message amidst transfer uncertainty

With his future at Liverpool still uncertain, Darwin Nunez shared a heartfelt message with fans following the club’s trophy parade. The striker posted several pictures and videos on social media, including a rare thank-you note in English directed at the supporters.
UNFORGETTABLE, THANK YOU LIVERPOOL
He passionately held the Premier League trophy. Nunez also shared moments alongside teammates Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, and Alexis Mac Allister. In addition, he uploaded a clip he filmed himself during the celebrations, capturing the crowd’s energy from his phone.
Throughout Liverpool’s title-winning campaign, Nunez featured in 47 matches but only started 17 times, with just eight of those coming in the league. He scored seven goals over the season, though manager Arne Slot gradually began to prefer Luis Diaz in the starting lineup over both Nunez and Diogo Jota.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are reportedly in talks with a Bundesliga club over a record-breaking move for Florian Wirtz. If completed, the deal would surpass the fee paid for Nunez when he joined from Benfica in 2022. Despite targeting Wirtz, the club is still expected to pursue another striker this summer.
Although questions remain about his future, Nunez played in Liverpool’s final match of the season against Crystal Palace. Coming off the bench, he made a crucial impact by delivering the cross that led to Mohamed Salah’s late equaliser in a 1-1 draw. If that was his last appearance for the club, the 25-year-old forward may have signed off in style, helping the Reds close out the season by lifting the Premier League trophy in front of their home fans.
