Their football team is always on the winning side for the past years , and the team were the winners of  the district championship back in 2020. The football team is coached by Vernon Hughes, he  is so far doing an excellent job of instructing and developing young players ready for success.

Who is the Weiss High School Football Coach?

The head football coach for the Weiss High School football team is Vernon Hughes.

Weiss high school football head coach, Vernon Hughes, was appointed to replace Van Meter after spending about a decade  of his professional career in Austin area’s as an assistant. Sources has it that this appointment is his first time as a football head coach.

Hughes (36)  was deemed fit by the Pflugerville school district for the head coach position and so he was chosen to replace Steve Van Meter to double as the head coach and campus boys athletic coordinator for the Weiss High School in Texas. Hughes prior to this position spent past three (3) seasons as an offensive coordinator for  Wolves’ offensive coordinator working under  Van Meter and he used this position to develop some of the valuable offenses in the area.

Hughes Vernon has a lot of knowledge which he gained from Van Meter among them is the quality of setting a high standard in all he do. He is continuously working on maintaining this high standard while as a head coach.

He is of the believe that the sky is the limit and that the athletic programs at Weiss is working towards the development of fully enforced players who would compete globally.  The team is made up of a great group of diverse kids, and they are working on the footprints of  Van Meter to take the teams to the next level.
