Harvey Elliott Predicts Tough Challenge in Final Away Game Against Brighton

Harvey Elliott is fully aware that Liverpool’s upcoming match against Brighton & Hove Albion will be another tough test in their Premier League campaign. However, he is confident that the Reds are prepared to rise to the challenge.
On Monday night, Liverpool will head south to the Amex Stadium for their penultimate match of the 2024-25 season (kick-off at 8pm BST). The Reds arrive as Premier League champions, having secured the title in late April, and are determined to finish the season on a high note before the summer break.
The clash with Brighton marks the first of two final hurdles for Jurgen Klopp’s side, with Elliott acknowledging that the Seagulls will provide a formidable challenge for the league winners.
“Brighton are a fantastic team with a brilliant playing style,” the midfielder told Liverpoolfc.com. “They work tirelessly on it every week and they cause problems for many teams. It’s definitely not going to be an easy game. We just need to stay focused, stay committed, and be ready to do the job.”
Elliott reflected on the quick pace of the season, noting the unique position Liverpool finds themselves in after securing the title so early.
“It’s been a fast season, no doubt,” Elliott continued. “We’ve had a successful campaign, and winning the league so early has put us in an interesting spot. We’ve had to approach things differently and manage it in a certain way.”
He went on to emphasize the importance of maintaining a balanced mindset. “It’s crucial not to get too carried away with the excitement of winning the league, but also to stay focused on the task at hand and give everything we’ve got in the remaining games.”
In discussing the final stretch of the season, Elliott pointed out that there’s still much to play for.
“We need to stay 100% focused in every match,” he said. “These games matter, especially for those of us who haven’t had as much playing time. They’re a great opportunity for fitness, a chance to build momentum, and with big tournaments on the horizon, they’re invaluable for getting game experience.”
Elliott also underscored that while the stakes may not be as high as they were earlier in the season, there’s still pride and honor at play in the final two matches.
“There’s always something to prove,” he added. “We want to show everyone why we’re champions. These are tough teams, with one game away and one at home. We just need to treat them like any other match – stay fully focused, respect our opponents, and give it our all. Football is all about enjoying the moments, and that’s what we’re looking to do.”
